Cosmetology Program

Metro Beauty Academy offers students a comprehensive cosmetology program designed to prepare and inspire. You will graduate with the knowledge and tools to become successful in every aspect of salon service.

Students will learn from the Salon Fundamentals text books (published by award-winning Pivot Point International) utilizing both the online text book as well as engaging in classroom discussion. Students will also gain the broad-based foundation to become a “whole” stylist through extensive practice with mannequins and regular clients.

From the beginning, you will quickly become comfortable with shampooing techniques and cutting all hair types from curly and coarse to fine and straight. You’ll learn the ins and outs of every salon tool and familiarize yourself with the proper sanitation efforts and salon hygiene.

As you proceed in your studies, coloring and texturizing concepts and procedures will become second nature. Advancing further, you will learn esthetic services like skin treatments and makeup application. Metro Beauty Academy will also prepare you with adequate knowledge on nail techniques such as manicures, pedicures and artificial nail application. How’s that for comprehensive?

Students will apply their classroom training on Metro Beauty Academy’s visiting clients in its chic and upbeat student salon. Not only will you gain knowledge through lectures and demonstrations, but you are introduced to the salon environment within no time.

To address confident and courteous communication skills, Metro Beauty Academy even offers its students a special Pivot Point people skills program so you’ll undoubtedly feel at ease with your clients. This program will inevitably prepare you with essential interpersonal and technical skills necessary to succeed after passing the State Board exam.

Full Time Schedule:  Monday – Friday  9:00am-4:00pm
Part Time Schedule:  Monday – Thursday  5:30pm-9:30pm and Saturday 9:00am-4:00pm
